9:48 pm - Dora
Minerva answers the knock though she's expecting no one in particular, and is surprised to find Xellos and a small child. That is original.

"Good evening. Who's this?"

One of these days, Minerva tells herself, she'll learn the truth. Parties were invented by the Creator, whoever he or she might be, so that interesting, dramatic things can happen at them. They exist for no other purpose and it is ridiculous to expect them to be quiet friendly affairs.

Still - she smiles a little to herself - it was several steps up from a staff party.

Casualty list: )

All in all ... she had a good time, in spite of her guests being ready to hurl things across the room at one another. Not for the first time, she concludes that Hogwarts must have driven her mad years ago.

10:54 pm - OOC note
When in the course of human events it becomes necessary that I should call Hewlett Packard three times in the same number of days and completely stump three successive tech-support folks, one of whom sounded about fourteen, because my computer has begun to inform me that I do not have the hardware to support wireless internet even though I obviously do, since I was using it up to that point, then it follows that I will be reduced to sitting on the ass-numbing hallway floor trying to mouse at the full extent of my left arm when I am right-handed, connected tenuously to the only ethernet cable in my household and trying to convince my fourteen-year-old little brother that I am not doing ANYTHING of interest to him, after nine o'clock Pacific Standard Time.

Therefore, Minerva's comments for the next however-long-this-takes-to-fix are going to be unusually terse for her, not to mention sporadic and slow in coming.

10:16 am - "Jellicle Cats come out tonight ..."
Minerva has mostly given up prowling about as a cat, because while it's easy to move as a feline, her joints will protest a little come morning. Not that it's debilitating pain, just a twinge of discomfort, but she's not going to risk giving herself arthritis with too-frequent transformations.

Tonight is one of those rare times when she indulges herself - it's time to find out the lay of the land in Margate.

On prowling and picking sides )

4:55 pm - A tour of the flat
Yes, this flat actually exists on Albert Terrace in Margate

Minerva's new flat is quite nice, and very spacious for someone who has lived most of her adult life in three rooms.

Come on in and have a look around. )

It occurs to Minerva sometime after Susan has left that she should have offered to buy her a meal on the morrow for all the help. She's immensely glad of having her flat in order. It might have been possible to do all that by magic, but as Minerva is not one of the few wizards who can levitate multiple objects, and she would have had to keep the door closed and the nonexistent curtains drawn, this is one of those situations where main strength is far preferable.

Well, she'll rectify the situation tomorrow. For now it's time for newly-unpacked bed.

2:49 pm - A note on the door
This is the flat of Minerva McGonagall. I'm not at home now. You may find me out for a walk, at a bookstore, or having a cup of tea at Mr. Potter and Mr. Black's cafe.

I need no kitchen appliances, I already own six full sets of encyclopedias and am pleased with their completeness, I am not quite old enough or morbid enough to want to make my funeral plans, I do not regularly sew, and I have no interest in changing my religion.

Please push a note through the letter slot if there is something else I can help you with.'
